I follow a lot of great fashion bloggers on Instagram, and when I was living overseas I loved to see their finds from unexpected places. Some were amazing thrifters. Like, AMAZING. We’re talking $5 new-with-tags J. Crew shoes from Goodwill, or cashmere sweaters on clearance for $4.
And sometimes they would pick up the cutest stuff from other stores…like Walmart. I’ve seen some bloggers rock trendy tees and even trendier swimsuits that are from there!
So I was pretty convinced that when I got back to the US I would take a look for myself, and I was NOT disappointed. I left with two tops, two sets of earrings, and a hat.
This flutter sleeve floral top was one of my finds for under $11! I loved the super feminine vibe, and I think it looks great with some distressed denim for contrast.
I fully realize that Walmart finds are not forever finds. But sometimes it’s nice to grab some trendy items that I can wear for a season or two and then let go. I think swimsuits are an especially good pick, since no matter what I always seem to want to get a new one each summer!
The other top I got is this pretty embroidered one (size down) for under $12. Overall, the Time and Tru brand seems to be the trendiest to me, and I also liked No Boundaries for their $4 hoop statement earrings— which are currently in my backpack as part of my accessories for my 3 week trip to Colombia!
We just landed in Bogotá yesterday and I’m so excited for this crazy adventure! I’ll be posting to the blog once a week (on Wednesdays) while I’m gone, and you can follow along the trip via my Instagram. If you have any Colombia tips please send them my way!
