Now that I have a beautiful, oversize mirror in the living room, I can take #OOTD pics! The lighting in my closet area is just not good for these kind of photos, and a fashion blogger needs a good place for outfit pics! Honestly indoor light is always kind of awful for photos, and when it’s still dark outside (like in the mornings when I take the photos) it’s still kind of meh. But better than nothing!
So today I’m going to round up last week’s look’s from Instagram stories all in one place. Since I can wear jeans to work my outfits are casual, but I don’t wear distressed denim or anything too revealing Monday through Friday. I also tried to stay warm since it’s been pretty chilly in Colorado Springs.
Some things I’m loving this week are big headbands, loafer slides, and statement earrings. See the looks below for what I’m talking about.
Monday
Sweater – similar (under $23) // Jeans – similar // Booties – similar // Headband // Necklaces – similar, similar
Want to know why I’m the worst? I got this pink and white stripe sweater on clearance from American Eagle recently, but didn’t post it in time for it to still be available to shop! These are the real fashion blogger struggles…anyway I have a hard time resisting stripes, and this one is similar and on sale for under $25!
As much as I love this new sweater, I love this new knot headband even more. I know big headbands are really in right now, especially Jennifer Behr’s super chunky ones. But a $200+ price tag for a headband? No, thank you. This gray one is way more wearable in terms of size, comes in several colors, and is affordable. Like, very affordable. I got the two pack of gray and yellow, so expect to see that color, too 😉
Tuesday
Sweater – similar // Leggings – similar // Boots –similar // Scarf – similar // Earrings (under $10)
Some days you just really want to wear leggings. And my favorite way to wear them in the winter and fall is with tall boots and a tunic sweater. Just make sure to wear those extra thick ponte leggings so there aren’t any issues if you know what I mean.
I showed you guys these olive statement earrings in my last shopping haul post, and they’re still available on sale! The green is so nice for when you’re not ready for all those brights yet. I mean, we had a blizzard yesterday here in the Springs so it’s definitely not time for spring colors!
Wednesday
Blazer – similar // Top – similar // Scarf – similar // Jeans // Loafers – similar
When it starts to warm up a bit from winter to spring I love to wear a thicker blazer with a scarf instead of bothering with a bulky jacket. I can definitely say I’m over winter! And these fur loafer slides do still keep my feet warm enough.
Thursday
Sweater – similar // Jeans // Loafers – similar // Necklace – similar
My unplanned Walmart outfit! Yes, everything except my necklace is from Walmart. I absolutely love these black high-waisted jeans. I wear them once a week at least! And a pop of leopard is always a good idea to me.
I wish the sweater and loafers were still available online, but I do find that Walmart doesn’t always put online everything that’s available in store. And their website lists a lot of other stuff that isn’t sold by Walmart stores. It’s a very confusing place! Every once in awhile when I stop in a Walmart I’ll browse through the clothes, shoes, and jewelry and I’m always pleasantly surprised at how cute stuff is.
Friday
Sweater – similar // Jeans // Mules // Earrings
I just got these mustard statement earrings (I know what you’re thinking: ANOTHER PAIR!) and I love how they look with gray. Mustard and gray is so perfect, right? And also mustard and blue, mustard and red (a little McDonald’s but whatever), mustard and black…all great!
These dark jeans were also in my last shopping haul post. I am so impressed with Target denim! Amazing fit and the price is awesome on the Universal Thread line. Highly recommend these!
Saturday
Sweater // Jeans – similar // Booties – similar // Earrings
This past Saturday we went to see Captain Marvel (pretty good!) and I wanted to wear a thicker sweater so I wouldn’t get cold in the theater. I ended wearing a pretty similar outfit to one I posted on the blog a few years ago! This criss cross sweater is nice and chunky and I love how it lays. And since it’s gray, I wanted to pair it with the mustard earrings again…naturally!
Sunday
Top – similar // Cardigan – similar // Jeans – similar // Loafers – similar
Sunday was for errands and shopping, so I went super casual with a graphic tee, distressed denim, and an oversize cardigan. Pretty laid back, but I’m not wearing yoga pants!
I might starting doing outfit roundup posts more often, since I love being able to share daily looks instead of showcasing just one outfit at a time. It’s easier with my schedule and more realistic– it’s what I actually wear day to day instead of staged outfit pictures.
Let me know what you think!
