I think that the consensus for most people nowadays is that Valentine’s Day is a lame Hallmark holiday. Just another ploy for companies to make you think you need to buy chocolates and flowers and gifts to celebrate love.
When the truth is, I don’t need a company to tell me to buy chocolate on a certain day…because I’m the type of person who would eat chocolate everyday 😉
I get excited for Valentine’s Day because it’s an excuse to get dressed up and go out to dinner. What kind of fashion blogger would I be if I didn’t like to get dressed up and then show everyone on my Instagram my wine and food at a night out!?
So this is what I’ll be wearing some weekend close to 14 February…kinda casual, kinda dressy, and with a dash of red and pink.
I haven’t gotten as much use out of my classic black blazer since my work attire turned more casual, but I really love how much more relaxed it looks with the sleeves scrunched up for a date night (it’s usually always on some kind of sale and available in 4 colors).
I’m on a vintage light-wash jeans kick right now, and paired with the blazer it’s just the right balance of dressy and chill. I actually ordered a few more pairs of vintage denim in a relaxed fit last week, so I’ll show you how they turn out on Instagram stories when they come in.
Whether you’re choosing to celebrate Galentine’s Day, date night, or staying in for the 14th I hope you have a good time!
