You guys. This snakeskin print top is my best thrifting find EVER! Not only because it’s completely on trend right now, but because it’s 100% silk Ella Moss and was originally sold for $178…and I paid $2.50 for it! I still can’t believe what a great find this is, and to be honest I think I saw it in the thrift store the week before and completely passed over it!
So my goal of staying on trend while on a budget is maintained yet again. If you don’t have luck finding snakeskin or python print at your local thrift store, I’ve rounded up some items in the widget that are all under $50.
I also decided to try out another trend with this outfit: pearl barrettes. I initially thought they would be a little too girly, but I really like how it looks paired with the snakeskin. This simple one I’m wearing here came in this hair clip set, and I’ve actually worn three different kinds of the clips since I got the set in a week ago! I’m partial to gold, so I like pairing some of the gold metal barrettes together to pin my hair back. I wore some in last week’s outfit roundup with a ponytail.
Accessories are really one of the easiest ways to update your wardrobe without spending a lot, so even if I’m wearing a top from several years ago adding the hair clips can make it look way more modern. If you’ve seen some of my recent outfits you know that I’ve been loving thicker headbands since I think they do the same thing.
The key is just to moderate the buying of the accessories– which I can say I’m surprised I’ve done well with so far this season!
