Nothing like a new year to make you reflect on the last one, huh? Especially after I just had my month long blogging break.
I’ve had a lot of great feedback from my post on my blogging break, where so many bloggers have told me how frustrated they feel as well! If I do decide to keep blogging, it really helps me to look back on my most popular posts to see where I need to go forward.
Interestingly enough, Countdown to Friday’s most popular posts run the gamut from blogging to travel to fashion to beauty! But overall there are less outfit posts and more helpful content getting the most views. I’m going to keep that in mind as I get together some ideas for 2019.
The Most Popular Posts of 2018
1. Q&A Why Do Fashion Bloggers Do That?

An oldie but a goodie! I wrote this post about a year after I started blogging, when fashion was my primary topic. Why Do Fashion Bloggers Do That? was inspired by so many of the questions I had about blogging prior to starting, and by the questions I frequently got asked by others about it.
Reading through the post now I feel like all of my answers are still accurate!
I did a sequel to this post where I answered 10 More Questions about Fashion Blogging if this didn’t answer all of them for you.
2. Hiking to the Eagle’s Nest in Berchtesgaden, Germany

I have to say that I am SO PROUD of this post on Hiking to the Eagle’s Nest! I originally wrote it in 2016 after we took a 5 year anniversary trip to Berchtesgaden, Germany. At that time I didn’t really know about SEO (Search Engine Optimization), where as a blogger you use key words to make sure your posts answers questions to what people look for on the internet with search engines.
Fast forward a few years and I wanted to revamp some of my old posts and make them better, with nicer formatting, resized photos, SEO, etc. I did that for this post and now it’s on the first page of Google if you search for hiking to the Eagle’s Nest!
3. 7 Things to Do in Lake Bled, Slovenia

Lake Bled is still one of my favorite destinations of all time, and I think these 7 Things to Do in Lake Bled, Slovenia make for a great list of things to do there over a long weekend.
I think the sweet spot for this destination is to go earlier in the season, cross your fingers for nice weather, and then get to enjoy it without all the crowds.
4. 4 Simple Steps to Concealing Dark Circles

I guess a lot of people have this problem if this 4 Simple Steps to Concealing Dark Circles post is so popular! When you think about all of the things we have to do in the day and how little sleep we get, it’s natural that we all suffer from the dreaded dark circles.
Since writing this post I have gone cruelty free with my beauty routine, so I’ve updated the post with the products I use now. You may think that cruelty free usually means more expensive, but I’ve found all the great drugstore stuff.
In fact, check out my favorite affordable cruelty free brands for makeup, skincare, and hair here if you’re interested in making the switch yourself.
5. Travel Style: Backpacking in Colombia for Three Weeks

Colombia was such an awesome trip! I am so lucky I had this break in my life where I was able to travel for three weeks. I hadn’t backpacked in forever, but it was a really great style challenge to pack for all different kinds of weather and activities for three weeks in a backpack!
Colombia is a really popular destination right now, so I think that’s partly why this post has been such a hit. I mean, the world’s tallest palm trees, colorful streets, and a hike to a lost city? It’s pretty awesome.
If you’re thinking of planning a trip to Colombia, also check out my post on my 11 favorite experiences there and what to know before backpacking.
Thanks for following along last year, and I hope you’ll bear with me as I figure out where CTF goes this year.
If you have anything you’d like to see on the blog in 2019 let me know!
