I have been saying something so much that I’m annoying myself with it at this point:
I want to wear more skirts and dresses this fall and winter!
So here I am, doing just that. Because pants are overrated.
This week on Instagram I’ve been sharing a different skirt/dress look each day, and here on the blog is my Monday outfit.
Sweater – thrifted, similar // Skirt – similar // Shoes – thrifted, similar
Leopard midi skirts were all the rage this spring and summer, and being a midi skirt lover I knew this one couldn’t stay in my closet all fall and winter. The warm weather look was a graphic tee, leopard print skirt, and sneakers, so I just traded the graphic tee for a sweater and called it a day.
I never thought I was that much of a sneaker person, but get yourself a cute white pair with a little height and you’ll be wearing them with EVERYTHING. I got this espadrille/sneaker pair on Poshmark for $30 earlier this year and love them with dresses and skirts.
If you want to sign up as a buyer or seller on Poshmark, you can use the code COUNTDOWNTOFRI to get a $10 credit towards a purchase. I’ll also get a $10 credit once you make a purchase.
And I have a problem with buying an obscene amount of ivory/off-white/beige/any-shade-of-neutral sweaters at the thrift. This one was $7 and isn’t a fancy fabric or super nice brand, but I really like the V at the back.
I’m happy today to be doing a linkup with the lovely Ada Furxhi!
Ada has been such a dear internet friend and has even purchased some of my secondhand finds, which I greatly appreciate! Today she’s styling a vintage Eddie Bauer wool sweater that I sold to her this year.
I love how she chose a colored skirt to complement the floral wreath in the sweater! And the floral pattern on the tights is such a great detail. What I’ve noticed about Ada’s style over the years is that’s it’s never boring. She always finds ways to add fun textures, colors, or other elements that make her outfit one of a kind.
Here’s a bit more about Ada and her blog:
“Hi, I am Ada – a Midwest blogger from the Metropolitan Detroit area – and I have been blogging at Elegance and Mommyhood for 8 and a half years since I was pregnant with my beautiful daughter Vivian. She has grown with this blog and through all the changes I have had between different jobs, living in two continents (first in Europe and now back in USA), marriage, divorce and with my evolving and sometimes-changing style, too. That’s why I named my blog “Elegance and Mommyhood” because it’s about good style that is affordable and looking put-together on a budget, as I raise a child as a single mother and dabble with everything that is involved with being a mom. In the last couple of years I started posting poetry on the blog too, since I have been writing poems from my tween years and it is something I love and enjoy. So you will find some of my poetry and a dose of prose in the blog, as well. You can also follow me on Instagram and you can find me on Facebok. I would love for you to follow me and to connect together. Thank you Kristin and Kristin’s readers for having me today. Wishing you all a Beautiful, Blessed and Covid-free Holiday Season and Happy Thanksgiving!! Welcome by. =)”
