So I went to Target last Sunday and spent a lot of money on things I was NOT intending to purchase…that’s nothing new, right? I believe my list started out with plastic wrap, dog treats, and some grocery items. And I ended up spending almost $60 on clothes, shoes, and beauty stuff…whoops!
I actually tried on a ton of sale items, and it looks like they’ve recently discounted a lot of great things I want to tell you about before sizes start to sell out.
I’ll go over everything I kept and two things I passed on below.
Keepers
“I Got It From My Mama” Graphic Tee (Size: S) $6.49
I am a firm believer that you can never have too many graphic tees. This one runs TTS, super soft, and is a longer length.
I love pairing graphic tees with distressed denim, or underneath a blazer for casual Friday at work.
Universal Thread High Rise Skinny Jeans (Size: 4S) Under $15
The best deal of all my sale finds! Universal Thread denim was on sale for $15, and then with a Cartwheel deal on the Target app I got another 5% off. Brand new, wonderfully fitting denim for under $15? Yes, please.
These actually remind me a lot of the Old Navy Sculpt denim if you’re a fan of those. They have a good balance of stretch and structure, and the high rise on this is just what I’m into nowadays. I am 5’6″ and the short style hits nicely on my ankles.
Knox Rose Dress (Size: S) $14.99
My friend told me this looked like the kind of dress I would go to a weekend market in, and I was thrilled that she thought I was a cool weekend market person. But yes, this is a great day to night dress. Casual for day with these brown mules (also an old Target fave) or dressed up with wedges for summer nights.
I will say I wish they had this in an XS in store, since the top is very blousy.
Hot Pink Strappy Heels (Size: 8 – half size smaller than normal) $16.48 in store, $32.99 online
Will strappy block heels ever go out of style? Let’s hope not. I had seen these heels in Target for months, but really didn’t want to pay full price. They were 50% off in my local store, and they might be in yours, too. If not, they’re sure to drop in price online soon.
I actually think a great date night look could be these heels, the skinny jeans from above, and an OTS top.
Physician’s Formula The Healthy Lip in ‘A Dose of Rose’ $3.79 in store with manufacturer’s coupon, $6.79 online
I have been dying to make this particular type of lipstick work for quite some time. The first color I bought looked awful on me, so I passed it on to my sister. But the formula of these liquid-to-matte lipsticks was so good I gave it a second shot with the ‘Red-Storative Effects’ color (which will be my fall favorite). And now this is my third version in ‘A Dose of Rose.’
It’s great for those that want to wear matte without dry lips. It stays put very well, too!

Yellow OTS Lace Top (Size: S) // High-Rise Fray Hem Jeans (Size: 4)
Does anyone else feel like Target’s new brands all have vanity sizing? At least in the tops. The yellow lace OTS top is cute, but wayyy too big. But I feel like if you size down the OTS elastic part is going to be too tight. Just weird.
And these jeans were so close to being keepers. You can’t tell too much from the photo, but they felt a bit too big in the ankles (a pet peeve of mine with skinny jeans). They’re not on sale online yet, but were in my store.
And that’s everything I got distracted with in Target when shopping for frozen pizza…
There’s been a lot of fashion content on the blog lately, and later this week I’m switching it up with a travel post. Stay tuned!
