Have you been seeing red this February? And not just for Valentine’s Day? If you’ve noticed more of my favorite color, it’s probably in part due to February being Heart Health Month and the Go Red for Women Campaign spreading awareness about heart disease. Did you know that heart disease is the number one killer of women?
In honor of Heart Health Month and National Go Red Day (which was February 3rd), Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood and I are linking up for Thursday Moda with red dresses.
I’ve had this red dress for several years, and it’s one of my favorite work dresses for Christmas time and any time I need a confidence boost. Wearing red just makes you feel like you own the place, you know? And it has pockets! I always gravitate towards the sheath shape for dresses that do double duty as work and party dresses…professional and fancy at the same time!
Note: I may receive commissions from clicks or purchases made through links in this post.
And this houndstooth coat was a thrifting find from my college days. I studied abroad in Florence for a semester and they have a wonderful flea market right outside the old town on Tuesday mornings (if you’re ever in Florence you should give it a look – the Cascine Market). My memory is a little fuzzy, but I got this coat for somewhere around 25€. I love how it matches the intensity of the red dress without overpowering it.
With the coat and the dress this outfit didn’t need much else, so I stuck with my trusty black pumps and heart and arrow necklace for accessories. Oh, and my latest makeup obsession, this perfectly red and longlasting lipstick!
Ada mixed in a lot of fun elements with her red dress, including chevron tights, a red necklace, and a simple navy clutch. But my favorite part is the fascinator headband! Check out her full look as well as the other blogger babes by clicking the linkup button below!
“Hi, I am Ada from Elegance and Mommyhood. Welcome to Thursday Moda – a weekly linkup which this week I am co-hosting with Kristin, whose style I love. Today we are styling Red Dresses in honor of Women’s Heart Disease. Our red dresses couldn’t look any more different but still beautiful. My dress is a little bohemian with the bell sleeves in a raspberry shade of red and I love how it looks with my chevron fishnet tights and navy accessories.”
And if you want to learn more about women’s heart health head over to Go Red for Women.
I’m headed to Austria tomorrow for the long weekend so follow along on my Instagram stories for beautiful views of the Alps and adventures with Rascal!
