Last week I shared the top fashion posts of last year, and today is all about 2017 TRAVEL!
I was able to go to some really amazing places this past year, from ski trips to spa vacations to city visits and country exploring. I started the year off in Budapest and ended it in Bratislava (the city’s castle is pictured above), with Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, and Slovenia in between.
And I really can’t pick a favorite place! So here are your favorite travel posts from last year.
I hate to start this post by throwing some shade, but I liked Salzburg sooo much better than Vienna! This 24 hour guide is a great walking tour of the city that’s pup friendly, too!
The city has so much charm and history is at every corner. If you’re a fan of Sound of Music you may recognize some of the filming locations as you wander the streets.
This guide hits a famous city in the Czech Republic, Cesky Krumlov, but other than that the spots are lesser known (meaning less tourists), making for a relaxing weekend trip.
I didn’t mention it in the post, but the first city in the itinerary was a random stop I made when I found out I had extra time waiting to link up with a friend. It turned out to be a really pleasant place to spend an hour or two with Rascal and it had a castle!
Strasbourg is very well known for its Christmas markets, but I truly enjoyed visiting earlier in the year. I loved learning about the Alsace culture in the city’s museums, and of course taking photos of the half-timbered homes on the water at every turn.
Compared to other cities I found Strasbourg to be quite affordable, with a studio Airbnb in the historic Petite France district to be less than $150 for two nights.
Our trip to Scotland this past September was truly the vacation of a lifetime! The cities, the Highlands, the drives, the castles, and the food…wonderful!
I wrote several posts about our trip, and this 7 Day Itinerary puts it all together for you. We really got to experience a little of everything with this plan, so it’s a great vacation for first timers.
And the most popular post was about the Lake Bled, Slovenia! The natural beauty of this area is breathtaking, and you can be as adventurous or relaxed as you want about it! You can stroll the lake and take a swim, or you can go canyoning and hiking.
I’m in the process of updating some of my older travel posts to load faster, be more organized, and provide more helpful information.
As I rework these posts I’ll let you know so you can see the improvements!
And as far as 2018 travel, I’m heading to Austria this weekend to enjoy a stay at an updated castle hotel! Follow me on Instagram to see it in my stories.
