Happy Friday! I’m currently out of town on a girls trip, spending time with my mom and aunts in Georgia. I love hanging out with them now that I’m older and we can have some adult drinks while they spill the tea on all the stuff I never knew about in our family!
Anyway, it’s about time I roundup all the fall outfits I’ve been sharing on Instagram stories lately. Like I’ve been saying, we’re starting to get that fall weather and I am HERE FOR IT 🙂
Taking Rascal to the Vet
Remember when I wore this cardigan for a work look? Last week I wore it to walk Rascal to the vet in the morning when it was a little cooler, and I had a tank on underneath since it warmed up over the day. And since I was walking my favorite comfy loafers were in order.
Heading to the Virginia Museum of History and Culture
I feel like this was my first full on basic girl fall outfit, and I am not ashamed. More of these to come 😉
Mustard is one of the best fall colors for sure, so I fell in love with this top when I saw it in store. It’s still available in all sizes, but also comes in a bunch of other colors.
And these simple light brown booties are a great sale find that are also really comfortable for long days of walking, like when I went to the Virginia Museum of History and Culture (which is a must for visiting Richmond, by the way!).
For some better photos of the booties you can see them with this cargo vest outfit I posted last week.
Heading to the Pumpkin Patch
I absolutely could not go this whole season without a visit to a pumpkin patch! After hiking to Belle Isle with Rascal and a friend, we headed over to the patch to get some pumpkins for decorating and carving.
I got this puffer vest last year, but I’m happy that they have them again this year, including one that’s just a slightly darker shade of pink (and on sale!). For someone who doesn’t dress down this much that often, I really do get a lot of use out of it. “Sporty chic” I like to say!
Casual Day at Work
I can’t get over all the super soft tops there are nowadays. Everything is so cozy and feels like pajamas in the best way! This berry top falls into that category. I love it so much that I have it in two colors! As it gets cooler I’ll start to layer on top with my cargo vest and a scarf, but for now simple is best for walking to work 🙂
Even though temperatures were in the 80s (!!) for this day in Savannah I still wanted to kinda feel like I was dressing for fall, so I chose this light sweater, button up skirt, and loafer mules. Honestly, I was so hot walking around! Savannah has not gotten the memo that it’s October.
But I feel like you can wear this combo with some slight changes for cooler temperatures. Swap out loafer mules for booties, the light sweater for something thicker and add a scarf, and even top it off with a wool hat.
Heading Out for a Morning Run
Did you guys hear that I’m training for a 10 miler? Yes! I need to have a little more of a workout plan to keep myself honest with fitness, so training for the run will help for sure. I’m going to use a portion of my half marathon training plan to prepare, and if you’re interested in running long distance I’ve written posts on half marathon training, including a workout plan, what I wear to run and what I listen to, and mental strategies for getting your best run in.
I like wearing cute graphic tees for my workouts, so I grabbed this tacos tank and this other tank on sale recently. And something that makes my workout easier is this waist band. You can’t tell, but I’m wearing it under my tank here. It’s extra wide so I can fit my phone (with its case on) and my keys, and it really does stay put. If you like to take long walks or runs and hate carrying all your stuff, these are a lifesaver!
And that’s all for the October roundup! I’m going to get back to hanging with my family and I hope you all have a great weekend 🙂
