It’s been a minute since the first Life Lately, and with so much going on it’s about time I update you all on the behind the scenes of CTF. Be sure to sign up for the giveaway at the bottom of the post!
Blogging
I mentioned last time that I was transitioning from WordPress.com to self-hosted, and if you follow the blog that’s nothing new. I’m really happy with the decision and it’s been great to customize the site more!
I also wrote my first post about blogging last week called Q&A: Why Do Fashion Bloggers Do That? I was really happy to hear that many of you liked the post, and would be interested in more about blogging! I’ve been thinking about a post on the WordPress.com to self-hosted transition, a second Q&A installment, or a roundup of free blogging resources. Let me know if any of those sound interesting, or if there’s another blogger topic you’d like to read about!
Travel
Recently my husband and I took a weekend spa trip to Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic. I’ve been there once before in the fall (posted here), but visiting in the spring with spa season starting and flowers blooming was gorgeous. We enjoyed a relaxing spa treatment, gambled at the famous Hotel Pupp Casino, and even got in a little hiking.
If the idea of a Czech spa vacation really speaks to you, check out how I did it on a budget to another spa town in this post.
Fashion
I feel like there are a lot of casual fashion bloggers out there. Which is great! I love wearing jeans and fashion sneakers and tees as much as the next girl. But since most of my outfits are for my business casual office, I’m trying to focus more on where I get those clothes on a budget and then how they end up being great for weekends, too.
I have content planned for rewearing the ruffle stripe top from this post to work, and I’m planning on making a guide for starting a business casual wardrobe on a budget. One that’s full of great basics and easy to personalize with the right accessories. Stay tuned!
Personal
I’m in the final semester of getting my masters! Wahoo! I’m currently in the process of completing my final exams, which includes three research papers needing to be completed in 30 days. Yikes. Due to the commitment to those exams, I’m going to be bumping down my posting schedule to twice a week. School first, blogging second for the time being.
And now the giveaway!
In the blogging Q&A post I mentioned loop giveaways and how bloggers use them to grow their brand. I don’t have a problem with other people doing them, but it’s really not my style. I want to grow because people genuinely like my content and connect with me.
So, in keeping with that mission and wanting to be able to give back to the people who read my blog and support me, I’m doing an Alex and Ani bracelet giveaway—no following required! I’m doing it through Amazon, so all you need to register is to have an Amazon account. I would really appreciate it if you followed my blog by signing up with your email in the sidebar, or follow my Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, and/or Bloglovin’ page. But that’s totally up to you!

The giveaway is for a gold Alex and Ani Om III bracelet, which is really similar to one of the ones I own! As you can see I love to wear mine together with almost every outfit. The giveaway is open to US legal residents 18 and older and ends next Thursday, May 25th at midnight. For official rules click here.
Good luck and thanks for following!
