There have been SO many changes going on in my life right now. I’m back in the good ol’ US of A, am getting ready to move into an apartment in Richmond this week, and have been enjoying wearing casual spring OOTDs pretty much every day!
I mentioned it in a recent Instagram post, but being a military spouse and having to move back to the US meant leaving a great job in Germany. I really did love my job, but this is Army life— moving and starting over every few years. My work was casual overall, but now that I’m unemployed I’m enjoying wearing even more casual OTS tops, distressed denim, and sandals almost every day. That’s the bright side of unemployment 😉
I’ve been rounding up my OOTDs in the highlight reel of my Instagram, and you can always shop them via the link in my Instagram bio or by clicking the ‘Shop‘ tab at the top of the page. It’s that easy!
Sharing the OOTDs here in a blog post is also great because I can tell you more about the fit of each item and how I have also styled certain pieces. So here we go!
Date Night Midi Dress
You’ve already seen this dress in my Target + Old Navy haul, but it’s definitely worth sharing again as a whole look. I paired it with my most comfortable heeled sandals (I walked and biked all over Rome last summer with them and had NO issues), a matching bag, and my favorite gold bangles. Easy, cute, and I’m very proud of myself for eating a whole Italian meal without getting a bit of it on my dress!
This dress is still available in 3 colorways and almost all sizes.
Casual Day Running Errands
Everyone loved this shirt. Because if you don’t love avocados who even are you?! An alien? Probably.
I dressed these relaxed jeans up in a recent style post, as well.
Last Dinner in Germany
I talked about one of my favorite European stores on Instagram stories lately: C&A. It’s got clothes for the whole family, and if I had to try and compare the apparel to a US store I would put it somewhere between Wal-Mart and Target. Everything is really well-priced and nothing is too crazy.
I bought this striped/floral OTS top there for only 12€ full price, and the brown bag I’m carrying in almost every other OOTD in this post is from there for about 20€. Check it out if you’re ever in Germany!
Shopping & Movies in the US
Much to my surprise, Virginia hasn’t been so hot and humid that I can’t wear jeans. I’ve taken advantage of the pleasant weather by wearing this new white pair with (surprise) another OTS top and strappy sandals. If you’re looking for white jeans, this pair from Target is great. They’re high-waisted and have a nice stretch for comfort.
Unfortunately the top isn’t available in green anymore, but there are a few other pretty colorways.
More Shopping & Errands
I’m really trying to stop myself from buying anymore OTS tops, but it’s really hard. As you can tell. H&M has sooo many cute ones! The stripes on this one are navy, which I love with the olive pants.
The exact pants I’m wearing are sold out online, but you might find them in store.
Fancy Dinner in Washington, D.C.
Of course I didn’t need a new dress for a fancy dinner in DC, but I visited a real Banana Republic for the first time in years and couldn’t resist this gingham one when I saw it. I just love a good fit and flare midi! It was actually even cheaper with the sale in store, so I would call to see if they have it in a store near you before buying online.
I would recommend sizing down in the dress for a tight fit in the chest and waist.
I didn’t say every OOTD was glamorous! This look was necessary for shopping for mattresses, though. I just got this knotted top and it comes in a lot of nice, muted colors.
Recommend sizing down one or two sizes in the top, even though it’s juniors. Wearing an XS for reference.
There you have it! A look at my casual spring OOTDs.
