Never in a million years did I think I would be wearing a crop top.
No offense to all the ladies and dudes that have no problem rocking them, but I am the self-conscious type. And also the type that likes to overeat at meals and end up with a food baby. I’ve accepted it, and accepted the fact that crop tops were just not in my future.
But then I saw this striped, off the shoulder number and thought, “Hey, I think that peplum hem combined with high-waisted jeans might just give me the coverage I need to finally wear a crop top.”
As you can see from this post, it worked out!
Looking at the photos afterward, the outfit doesn’t look that scandalous whatsoever. Isn’t it funny how all these outfit insecurities are usually just in your head? #TRUTH
Anyway, I love that I’m able to get out and about in Richmond for blog photos. These were taken at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and the setting is really special. You can see some of the red glass structures in the garden, and there were water features, more sculptures, and lots of grass areas for picnics. Basically, perfect.
I have to give a huge shoutout to Nicole of Oh So Deco for suggesting the VFMA for a shoot location, taking photos, and then telling me about the awesome happy hour they have there! I ended up going last Friday, and it is seriously where to be in Richmond at the end of the week! Everyone was dressed up and fabulous and having a great time. Also, there were dogs!
You’ll probably be seeing me there a lot more often 😉
