I have seen so many adorable gingham sundresses this season, particularly for July 4th in red, white, and blue. Something about gingham just screams summertime, and despite usually being worn for casual occasions, I wanted to take the trend to the office.
Because the gingham top is a button up (or is it a button down?), I think it already goes well with a simple black pencil skirt. Gold instantly makes everything fancier, so I added a gold watch and minimalist bar necklace (the one I was talking about in my last post-if you look at the close-up carefully you can make out the engraving). I’ve had this oversize clutch forever and I don’t think I’ll ever part with it. The foldover style is so popular right now, you might not guess this one is a few years old.
As far as these sunglasses go, I thought I would try something different and go for square frames instead of my favorite black cateyes. I found this Ted Baker pair at TK Maxx (German TJ Maxx) for less than $35, and I love the neutral color. More fun than a plain black or brown pair, but still matches everything. I just can’t decide if they blend too much with my face or not? Oh well!
