I didn’t fully realize how crazy my loafer obsession had gotten until I pulled them all out this weekend…there’s 6 pictured here and I have one other pair, so 7 total! It’s safe to say that loafers are one of my favorite trends.
I’m obsessed with them for 3 reasons: they’re a classic style, can be worn almost year round, and are super versatile. The perfect shoe, right? They’re great for casual and formal offices and you can get them in simple styles or more fun options. I mean, even if you’re not as into loafers as me, there’s bound to be one pair that you really like.
So today I’m rounding up some of my recent loafer looks and affordable picks for adding this trend to your closet.
Classic Pointed Toe
There’s something about a simple, pointed toe loafer with distressed jeans that is oh-so perfect. But if you swap out the jeans for some skinny colored slacks you could wear this look to work! Once spring arrives I know the pointed toe loafers will also look great with some floral dresses and midi skirts.
This past fall I purchased the brown pair styled above, and then got this cheaper black pair just last week. The black pair will be part of Thursday’s outfit post, so stay tuned!
Slip On Mules
I don’t think I can explain this too much…but having shoes that you literally slip on is as easy as it gets! And as it gets warmer loafer slides are going to be my shoe of choice.
I’ve had the tan suede mules on the left for awhile, and I have to be honest. Even though I like the shape and style, the suede is a pain to keep looking nice and the pointy toe gets scuffed easily. It’s a little late now to use a suede protector, but I think I’ll stick with less pointed versions in the future.
I almost think it was a bad idea to do this post because now I’m really crushing on that leopard print pair under $50!
Extreme Comfort
Sometimes you need to go for the foot-friendly brands. The ones with comfort padding and thicker soles to protect your feet from long days of walking or standing. I love heels as much as the next girl, but you don’t catch me wearing them to work every day of the week!
For my first day at my new job last October I wore the gold hardware loafers pictured above since I knew I would be busy walking around.
Aerosoles, Lifestride, Naturalizer, and Dr. Scholl’s are brands to look for when trying to find loafers that take care of your feet, and luckily they also have a lot of cute options in this style! See the ‘Love’ loafers below? Trendy and comfortable.
Embroidered and Colored
Life’s too short to have a closet full of plain shoes.
And with so many affordable embroidered, colored, patterned, and otherwise embellished options out there why not go for it? I got my embroidered mules from Primark for around $10 so it’s okay if they don’t last forever.
Hope you enjoy the picks and let me know if you’re a fan of loafers, too!
