Guys. I finally did it and just bought a beret already! And now I’m wondering why I waited so long in the first place. I had a lot of excuses about them looking weird because I have a small head, or being too costume-y, and then just sitting in a drawer never getting worn.
But in the one week that I’ve officially been a beret owner I’ve already worn this wool camel beret twice. It comes in a ton of colors and is really REALLY budget-friendly, so I’m considering getting it in one of the red shades, too. Is two berets too much? I’m starting to think not!
I first wore my beret with a striped top, long blazer, jeans and the black loafers I’m wearing here. It was very French of me, if I do say so myself. But I think a great way to wear a beret and not feel like you’re dressing up in costume is to pair it with something much more modern, like a sleek puffer jacket. Or maybe if it ever decides to warm up in Germany, I’ll pair it with some distressed boyfriend jeans.
I just added some beret outfit inspiration to my Pinterest if you’re looking for some more ways to style one.
I took the photos for this post in my little Bavarian town last weekend in combination with running errands. After finishing up, I headed to a restaurant with a great view of where I had taken my photos earlier! Here’s the view of my town from the restaurant.
I took the photos at the base of the green building by the white posts. Can you tell in some of the shots? My town may be small, but it’s cozy and has lots of character. I’m definitely going to miss it when I leave!
Later this week on the blog I’ll be posting an update on half marathon training, with strategies for getting you through your runs.
Have a great week!
