My relationship with midi skirts is no fling–it’s here to last. They’re feminine and flattering, and I love how they make an ordinary day feel special. I ordered this one for the fantastic color. The pictures don’t quite do it justice, and I guess to describe it I would call it a mix of mustard and neon green. I’ve been eyeing a watch with a leopard print wrist band, and I think it would have been a perfect accent to the chartreuse skirt.
As I was putting this outfit together I was was wondering how many people can actually wear this to work. I sit at a desk for most of the day, so heels are not an issue. I don’t work in law or accounting, where traditional office attire is standard. On paper my dress code is business casual, which I think of as looking nice without jeans. If you do have a more traditional office I think you can still wear midi skirts, you just might want to keep the rest of the outfit to tailored, simple pieces. For example, maybe a fitted white button up, low-heel or flat shoes, and a sleek watch.
Does anyone else have tips for styling midi skirts for the office? I’d love to hear them!
