Believe it or not, until last week I did not own a black blazer for work! Say what? I have quite a few others, but I somehow missed out on filling my work closet with this staple. After thinking of so many situations where my office look would have been perfect with one, I went ahead and ordered this one from JCPenney.
I had toyed with the idea of getting a nicer black blazer from Banana Republic or Calvin Klein, but I am so happy with the quality and price of this one that I definitely don’t need to! This one fits me almost perfectly with no tailoring, and it just needs a good press at the dry cleaners to look even better.
My favorite thing about blazers is that they instantly dress up anything. These olive pants are technically jeans and the floral blouse is nothing fancy, but with the blazer and my fave work heels I’ve got a great business casual look.
Has anyone else started the Girlboss show on Netflix? It’s based on Sophia Amoruso’s autobiography, where she details her beginnings with business from selling vintage clothes on eBay to founding Nasty Gal.
Now I am all for supporting women entrepreneurs, but honestly her character rubs me the wrong way. She’s kind of rude and unrealistic, and so against being an adult if it’s not on her terms. Sometimes I hate adulting as much as the next person, but grow up, girl!
That being said, I can appreciate how her attitude and determination helped her create a successful business, where she made her own rules. She is one of the most successful female self-made millionaires after all! I’m about half way through so maybe my view of her will change. What do you guys think of it?
