I know what you’re thinking…aren’t brooches for grandmas? Well I used to think that oversize cardigans were just for grandpas, but here we are in 2016 with every girl wearing them! Since my workplace is business casual I have more leeway with wearing fun items, but I think more formal offices can sneak in some flair here and there, and pins or brooches are a great way to do that.
Pins are awesome because they can spice up a neutral business wardrobe for less. All the options I linked below are under $15, and can be mixed and matched with each other. I especially think they’re a great idea if you’re going on a business trip and will be wearing the same blazer or cardigan for a few days. You can pack a few pins and wear different ones each day to change your look.
Note: I may receive commissions from clicks or purchases made through links in this post.
I got this neutral Theory blazer from thredUP (read the review of my order here) and was excited to wear it to work, but it just needed a little something something. These pins I got at H&M a few weeks ago were exactly that. I don’t have to dress this formal for work, but with these pins I don’t mind the blazer/pencil skirt combo. I plan to also wear them on the outside of some of my winter coats, too, or maybe to pin a scarf in place.
If ladylike brooches aren’t your thing, don’t give up on them yet! These emoji pins are too cute and would look amazing on a jean jacket or a canvas tote bag. So no matter what your style, lets all agree to bring back the brooches!
