After my seasonal clothing switch a few weeks ago, I started getting excited to wear all of my favorite sweaters again. You almost forget how many good ones you have when they’re all packed away for spring and summer!
And with the temperatures dropping here in Germany (it’s in the 30s when I walk my dog in the morning), I thought it would be the perfect time to roundup these cold weather favorites.
So here are 5 sweaters that were featured last fall and winter on CTF that will be on repeat over these next few months.
P.S. I’ve actually already worn #3 and #5 this year!
Sometimes you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into when you order clothing on Amazon, especially when reviews for a particular item are mixed. Luckily this criss cross sweater turned out to be a major win.
It’s super thick and cozy, and the faux wrap style lays really nicely. It’s meant to have an oversize fit (wearing a small for reference) and comes in few colors, too.
Just because you want to stay warm doesn’t mean you can’t still rock a little cold shoulder!
I always reach for this red top when I’m dressing up jeans for going out on the weekend. It’s just a little more trendy than your average sweater with the cold shoulder detail and high-low hem.
It’s a little more thermal top than sweater, but still a seasonal favorite. Available in 6 colors.
You might be thinking that sleeveless sweaters are kind of silly…I mean, if it’s cold enough for a sweater don’t you want sleeves? When it’s really cold, yeah.
But sleeveless sweaters are actually kind of nice when you don’t want a lot of extra bulk under your coat. Like when the temperatures are kind of in between chilly and cold. They also lay a lot nicer underneath blazers if you want to be cozy and a little more formal.
This black one is pretty basic and I really like the idea of layering a button down underneath.
The lace up trend is still going strong this year! Thank goodness because this sweater is super soft and such a great shade for fall. It’s called ‘spiced rum’ and I can see myself curling up on the couch with a warm, spiked beverage while wearing it.
I really like this color because it looks great with black and brown, so it’s very versatile.
I wore this cowl neck sweater to work yesterday with some skinny jeans and tall brown boots, but as you can see from last year’s photo it also looks nice for business casual dress codes.
The downside of cowl neck sweaters is that they’re kind of bulky to layer a scarf on top, but the MAJOR plus side of them is that they frame your face and draw attention away from any problem areas (looking at you, muffin top).
It’s also available in black.
So there you have it, 5 sweaters that are ready to be remixed this fall and winter season.
As a side note, I noticed that I’m wearing these jeans with 4 out of the 5 sweaters in this post…I guess they’re fall favorites, too!
What are some items you’ll be re-wearing this year?
